He is overall an awesome Vice Principal, and all the students and faculty show a great deal of respect for him. His number one duty is to make sure that these kids are obtaining the best environment and education in the classroom.

I am amazed at my child's teacher's classroom management. She is able to keep the students quiet and engaged with her consistent but compassionate expectations.

My child's teacher has been amazing for my daughter's self-esteem as well as helping her to love reading. She was convinced that she was a"bad reader", but the teacher helped her to see that she has all the tools to be a great reader. Now reading in our house is fun and not a fight.

Also, Newton Elementary has received a $4800 Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant to enrich and enhance the school garden. We are thrilled to announce that Lowe’s has awarded the funding for the garden. Our grant application was based on the goal of creating hands-on science activities for students at the school. We look forward to sharing the school garden with the Henderson community. We would love to have parents and community helper regularly assist in the school garden.
Newton is so excited to be selected for the Josh Steven's Grant! We will be receiving free "Be Kind" shirts for all staff and prizes for students.
If you are interested in getting a volunteer badge, please visit this link and ensure you submit your name to Newton ES in Step 3. There is a faster turnaround in the next couple of weeks and this badge is good for 5 years and allows participation in field trips when space is available.

2019-2020 Welcome Video
Dear Newton Families,
It is with deep regret that I need to inform you that our instructional coach, Victoria Talbot, has passed away this weekend from possible respiratory or cardiac complications. Ms. Talbot was an integral part of our staff and will be dearly missed. She worked with all teachers in a coaching capacity, supervised student lunches, and met with small groups of students throughout the day for extra reading help. She also worked in a tutoring capacity with our English Language Learning Students.
We will have counseling resources available Monday to assist during this difficult time. Please monitor any signs of behavioral changes in your child/children as this experience may affect them in unexpected ways.
It is important to be honest with your child and allow him or her to express feelings of disbelief, grief and/or anger. Reassure your child that many of the feelings are normal and there is always someone with whom he/she can talk.
If you have any questions about this, please don’t hesitate to call our school at 702-799-0500. We are currently working with the family to see how we can assist them.
Deeply saddened,
Ms. DiCamillo
